Okay, here is the latest update. David, you will be glad to know that Dorry is 6 cm dilated, 90% effaced, and -2 station--whatever all of that means. They have propped Dorry up and think that
we she could be pushing soon.
Our sweet daughter has arrived to see her mom. We are close...

Push it Out! Push it Out! Waaay Out!
Rowan, are you here yet??
Jeremy, you about made me cry with the pic. I guess I'm just hormonal. GO DORRY!
Dilation is how large the opening of her cervix is. Effacement is how thin the cervix is. Basically, if you care to know, contractions change the uterus to where a cervix no longer exists. Someone else may explain it differently, but that is how I remember it. Station is a measurement of where Rowan's head is in relation to the circular opening Dorry's in pelvic bone that Rowan must travel through. A (-) number, measured in cm, means his head is above the pelvic opening . At 0 station his head is engaged in the opening. A (+) mumber is the number of cm Rowan's head is beyond the opening.
Nurse Sandy says that she will only deduct points based upon the "station" analysis because it is actually in relation to the tail bone. Other than that, good work!
Why couldn't I have a husband that knew all this stuff while we were still reproducing??! Maybe he could have used his knowledge in a comforting way rather than cracking jokes! Just kidding, David. I love you and you were a comfort when Madeleine and Gabriel were born.
How is Dorry? Can we have an update on her rather than just her anatomy:-) Is she in good spirits ( well, I know she's ready for him to be here), but is she doing okay? Epidural still working well, is she comfy?
.... such a sweet daughter indeed , and she will be a wonderful " big sister " ....... I guess I'm getting hormonal too Rita .... or maybe it's the beer .......
